Jack Ruffer was a classmate of mine and forwarded this e-mail to me. The class of '59 - Pacific High School is very proud of this marine and the fine service he gave to his country! I am proudly flying my flag today!! This is an outstanding tribute.

Today is Memorial Day. I served in Vietnam from Feb. 1968 thru Mar. 1969. I fought with E Co. 2/27 and F Co. 2/9. For some Americans, they only remember and honor our servicmen and women on this day. However, for me and others that served this country, we remember everyday. Because everyday is Memorial Day. Have a safe and reflective Memorial Day. Semper Fi, Glen D. Helm

Major Jack Ruffer sent this to me. Jack and I met at our first duty assignment BCo/1st Bn/7th MAR. We became friends and have stayed in contact with each other. Jack got married in 1962 and I was his Best Man,(he was the best man) I just stood up for him. We went our seperate ways in mid 1962, but we both went to different Naval Stations. This is getting too long. Thanks Michael for the great poem and music on this very special day. Sorry, I should say "Outstanding Poem and Music" Semper Fi Norman Honadle CWO 5 USMCR 1959 to 1998

My friend and high school classmate, Maj. Jack Ruffer (USMC) shared this sight with me. Many of us have not forgotten the sacrifices made by those who protect our freedoms. May the memory of their bravery inspire new generations of freedom fighters.

Maj Jack Ruffer shared this with me. I had chills running up my back while reading all the inspirational stories of our men and women who have served in our Armed Forces. Jack was my CO for a short time in 1967. Semper Fi Joseph C. Dowdle MGySgt USMC Ret.
